Our artists and makers. . .
Seven Fables is honoured to represent some of the finest, most skilled professional artists, writers and makers that are currently creating in the UK today. We have new work arriving continuously and the best way to select and choose an item for your home is of course in person. We understand that this is not possible for everyone and so a selection is featured here on our website. If you are unable to spot what you are seeking please do contact us.
Rachel's work caught our eye as she too shares a love for the wild creatures that occupy that liminal divide between the natural world and those evasive magical realms...
All pieces are individually handmade in sterling silver and hallmarked in Sheffield.
We are the principal UK outlet representing renowned artist & author Jackie Morris, winner of The CILIP 2019 Kate Greenaway Medal for The Lost Words created in partnership with Robert Macfarlane.
A selection of her work is displayed in the gallery but please do book ahead if there are specific pieces you wish to view in person.
These dynamic time pieces have provided the sound track at Seven Fables since the day we opened.
Customers often comment on their calming effect as the sound requests that you slow your pace and enjoy the atmosphere.
Andy describes himself as an illustrator and ruralist, in fact many of the artists and makers we represent describe themselves as ruralists and it's an expression that we feel suits Seven Fables extremely well.
You can instantly see why we were drawn to his intricate wood engravings and wished to add them to our portfolio of likeminded, nature inspired artisans.
We have been representing Catherine's work at Seven Fables since we opened in 2002, during that time it has been an absolute delight and privilege to witness her work evolve and to see her creative wings unfurl to include the written word.
We have admired Xuella's work for many years but felt her latest creations were perfect for Seven Fables, complementing the other artists, designers and makers that we already represent.
Her designs are inspired by song lyrics and poetry, which creates narrative and wearable imagery. Hares feature strongly, and we love the addition of her wild mares and long dogs to cabinet of treasures.
Etched and hand painted stained glass, Tamsin's work is highly collectable and much sought after. Her distinctive and evocative images capture a sense of old magic, hinting at the rich folklore and myth of our landscape's past.
